In the Timna Valley, about 30 km north of Eilat, stands a replica of the wilderness tabernacle reproduced at full size and to the biblical dimensions. It includes the curtains around the courtyard, the bronze altar of burnt offering, the laver, the lampstand, table of showbread, and altar of incense in the holy place, and beyond the veil the holy of holies with the ark - all following the description of Exodus 25-40. No real gold or jewels are used, but every element matches Scripture, making this the most powerful teaching site in Protestant pilgrimage for seeing the sacrificial system, the priesthood, and the way all of it foreshadows Christ. Nearby are ancient Egyptian copper mines, smelting remains, and rock art. Honestly, this valley is not the actual place the tabernacle stood; it is purely an educational reconstruction.
