한국기독교역사박물관
한국기독교역사박물관은 2001년 경기도 이천에 문을 연 한국 개신교 역사 전문 박물관으로, 기독교 출판인이자 장로였던 한영제가 평생에 걸쳐 수집한 방대한 자료를 바탕으로 세워졌다. 이곳은 초기 한글 성경과 찬송가, 선교 문헌, 교회 신문과 주보, 각종 신앙 서적 등 한국 개신교 백삼십여 년의 기록 유산 수만 점을 소장하고 있다. 1882년 만주에서 간행된 로스역 누가복음에서 시작해 1887년 예수셩교전서, 그리고 오늘의 개역 성경으로 이어지는 성경 번역의 역사와, 손때 묻은 낡은 찬송가 책장들은 한국교회가 얼마나 말씀과 찬송 위에 세워진 교회인지를 실물로 증언한다. 초기 선교사들이 남긴 편지와 사진, 교단의 형성 과정을 보여 주는 문서들은 한국교회가 걸어온 길을 눈으로 확인하게 해 준다. 화려한 유물이 아니라 낡은 책과 종이 한 장 한 장을 통해 신앙의 뿌리를 확인하려는 순례자에게 이곳은 보물창고와 같다. 전시된 초기 한글 성경의 옛 활자와 표지, 손으로 눌러쓴 신앙의 기록들을 찬찬히 들여다보며, 말씀이 이 땅에서 걸어온 길을 따라가 보자.
Korean Christianity Museum — Gyeonggi Icheon-si
Opened in 2001 in Icheon, this museum devoted to Korean Protestant history grew from the vast lifelong collection of the Christian publisher and elder Han Yeong-je. It holds tens of thousands of items — early Korean Bibles, hymnals, mission documents, church periodicals, and devotional books — spanning more than 130 years of Korean Protestant heritage. From the Ross Gospel of Luke printed in Manchuria in 1882, through the 1887 first complete Korean New Testament, to today's revised Bible, the history of Scripture translation and the worn pages of old hymnals bear physical witness to a church built on the Word and on song. Letters, photographs, and documents left by early missionaries let pilgrims trace with their own eyes the path the Korean church has walked. For those who love primary sources over grand relics, it is a treasure house; linger over the old type and bindings of the earliest Korean Bibles.
