죽산순교성지
죽산순교성지는 1866년 병인박해와 그 이후의 박해 때 수많은 신자가 처형된 순교지로, 처형장으로 끌려가면 살아 돌아오지 못해 '잊은 터'로 불렸다는 이야기가 전해질 만큼 참혹했던 박해의 현장이다. 죽산은 조선 시대 도호부가 설치된 교통과 행정의 요지였고, 그만큼 관아의 권세가 미치는 곳에서 이름 없는 농민과 아낙, 노인들이 신앙을 지키다 스러져 갔다. 기록에 남은 순교자들의 문초 답변은 한결같이 소박하지만 단호해, 배움이 짧고 힘이 없어도 진리를 붙든 믿음이 얼마나 강한지를 보여 준다. 이곳에서 순교한 이들 가운데 이름이 밝혀진 이는 일부에 지나지 않으며, 그 나머지 무명 순교자들의 존재는 역사에 기록되지 않았어도 하나님께서 낱낱이 기억하시는 증인들이 있음을 일깨운다. 개신교 순례자에게도 이곳은 "죽도록 충성하라 그리하면 내가 생명의 관을 네게 주리라"는 말씀을 몸으로 살아낸 믿음의 선진들을 만나는 자리다. 너른 잔디밭에 조성된 순교자 묘역과 십자가의 길을 천천히 걸으며 그 이름들을 하나씩 읽고, 이름조차 남기지 못한 이들까지 함께 기억해 보자.
Juksan Martyrs' Shrine — Gyeonggi Anseong-si
Juksan Martyrs' Shrine marks a site where many Catholics were executed during the 1866 persecution and after; it was so feared it came to be called 'the forgotten ground,' from which no one taken ever returned. Juksan was a Joseon-era administrative center, and it was under the reach of such official power that nameless farmers, women, and elders fell while keeping their faith. The recorded testimonies of these humble believers are simple but unyielding, showing how firmly even the unlettered and powerless can hold to truth. Only some of those martyred here are known by name; the rest remind us that God fully remembers witnesses history never recorded. For pilgrims of every tradition, it is a place to meet forebears who lived out the charge to be faithful unto death. Walk the memorial grounds and Stations slowly, reading the names one by one and remembering even those who left none.
