군산3.1운동100주년기념관
군산3.1운동100주년기념관은 구암교회와 영명학교가 주도한 1919년 3.5만세운동 100주년을 기념해 2019년 구암동산에 세워졌다. 붉은 벽돌로 옛 구암교회 예배당을 재현한 건물 자체가 하나의 전시물로, 외관에서부터 초기 한국교회의 정취가 느껴진다. 내부에는 군산 만세운동의 전개 과정과 참여자들의 기록, 당시의 사진과 유물이 전시되어 기독교 신앙과 독립운동이 어떻게 결합했는지를 보여준다. 영명학교 학생들은 독립선언서를 등사해 나눠 들고 거리로 나섰고, 교사와 병원 관계자들까지 만세 대열에 함께했다. 학교에서 배운 성경과 양심이 젊은이들을 불의 앞에 침묵하지 않게 만들었던 역사는 신앙 교육의 열매가 무엇인지 오늘의 교회에 묻는다. 전시를 본 뒤 구암동산의 기념탑과 구암교회까지 이어 걸으면 한 시간 남짓한 알찬 순례 동선이 된다. 아이들과 함께 방문하기에도 좋은, 신앙과 역사 교육의 산 교실이다.
Gunsan March First Movement Centennial Museum — Jeonbuk Gunsan-si
Opened in 2019 on Guam hill for the centennial of Gunsan's March 5th, 1919 demonstration, this museum occupies a red-brick reconstruction of the old Guam Church sanctuary — the building itself part of the exhibition. Displays trace how students of Yeongmyeong School mimeographed the Declaration of Independence and marched, joined by teachers and hospital staff, showing how Christian faith and the independence movement joined hands. It asks today's church what the fruit of faith-filled education looks like. Combined with the hill's memorials and Guam Church, it makes a rich hour-long pilgrimage, well suited to visiting with children.
