강화중앙교회

Ganghwa Jungang Church — Incheon Ganghwa-gun
Beginning in 1900 as Jamdu Church on the silkworm-head hill above the town, Ganghwa Jungang Church became the center of education and enlightenment on the island, founding a school that grew into the Habil School, where Ganghwa's youth learned Scripture and modern subjects together. Its members and graduates helped lead the island's March First demonstrations in 1919, when the market square of Ganghwa rang with cries for independence. The mother church of the town, it has planted and served congregations across the island for over a century. It anchors the Ganghwa pilgrimage route, pairing naturally with Gyosan and Hongeui churches and the Anglican church nearby — plan a half-day walking circuit.
