Church of St. George, Lod (Lydda) — Lod
Lod (Lydda in Scripture) is where Peter told Aeneas, bedridden eight years with palsy, 'Jesus Christ makes you well; arise and make your bed,' and he rose at once (Acts 9:32-35). This sign turned all the residents of Lydda and the plain of Sharon to the Lord, and Peter was soon summoned to nearby Joppa. Today's Greek Orthodox Church of St. George, rebuilt in 1870-1872 over Byzantine and Crusader remains, keeps in its crypt the traditional tomb of the 4th-century martyr St. George (the legendary dragon-slayer); the church stands wall-to-wall with a mosque. Honestly, the tomb of George is tradition, and the healing of Acts cannot be pinned to a specific building. Tip: in the crypt meditate quietly on apostolic healing and resurrection power, and view the Orthodox icons and incense with respect.
